President Donald Trump turned a multibillion-dollar shipyard announcement into an unexpected Ravens fan moment — and Lamar Jackson's mother was at the center of it.

On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, Trump traveled to Sparrows Point in Baltimore County to announce a $3.7 billion investment from Anduril Industries, promising more than 3,100 jobs at a new submarine manufacturing facility. The event was a big deal in policy terms — but what went viral was the football.

Several Ravens players, including cornerback Marlon Humphrey, Tyler Loop, Ryan Eckley, and long snapper Nick Moore, were in attendance. Trump shouted them out, calling them "big stars" and "good-looking guys," remarking, "Oh ho ho, these guys are making a lot of money. They're doing very well."

Then Trump pivoted to the one Raven who wasn't there.

"Say hello to your quarterback. He's a little bit injured," Trump told the players, referring to Jackson's ankle injury. "Tell him I know his mother; I met his mother a few times in Palm Beach, and she's a fantastic, beautiful woman, but give him my regards."

Jackson's mother is Felicia Jones. Jackson grew up in Pompano Beach, about 40 miles south of Palm Beach, Florida, where Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club resort is based.

Through the first four games of the 2026 season, Jackson had been completing 70.8 percent of his throws for 967 yards, six touchdowns and one interception — MVP-caliber numbers — before the ankle injury cast doubt on his Week 5 availability.

The moment lit up social media for more than one reason. Some fans on X were wary of Trump's praise, invoking the so-called "Trump curse." "Oh no, Trump just cursed the Ravens," one person wrote. Another noted how Trump had attended a Knicks game during their 13-game winning streak — a streak that promptly ended that same night.

The Sparrows Point visit was at least the third Trump-Ravens interaction since last summer. In July 2025, then-Ravens coach John Harbaugh and his brother, Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh, met with Trump in the Oval Office.

As for Humphrey, he has never been shy about his support for Trump, and shared a video of himself hitching a ride with the president, which went viral.

Whether Jackson's ankle heals in time — and whether the "Trump curse" is real — Baltimore fans will be watching closely.
