The general election is November 3, 2026. On the ballot are two of the five county commissioner seats and six countywide offices, including sheriff, treasurer, auditor, assessor and prosecutor. The county's election page still showed the August primary when I checked, and it lists only that November 3 is the next election.

Past years suggest the timing. Last year the county began mailing general election ballots on October 15, ahead of the November 4 election. In 2024 it mailed them on October 10 and 11 for the November 5 election. This year's primary ballots were mailed July 15-17. If the county sticks to roughly 18 days before the election, ballots would go out around October 15-17. That's an estimate, not a confirmed date.

Last year, Auditor Vicky Dalton advised voters using USPS to mail ballots well before Election Day, because many post offices moved to once-a-day pickup. Drop boxes are another option and are open until 8 p.m. on Election Day. If your ballot hasn't arrived about a week and a half after mailing, call the Elections Office at 509-477-2320 for a replacement.
